Swimming can be a great way to stay cool during your summer pregnancy not to mention it's great exercise!
Wear thin, light fabrics that don't cause you to sweat too much.
Carry an insulated bottle of cold ice water with you and a small washcloth, wet the cloth with the cold water and place it on the back of your neck. You'll cool down instantly This really works!
Avoid Mid-Day sun and take an umbrella with you to stay out of direct sunlight. Since pregnant women are more suceptable to heat stroke, it is best to stay indoors or in the shade during very hot temperatures.
Try getting your outdoor tasks done before the hottest part of the day.
Be sure to wear sunscreen when you're out in the sun because during pregnancy, your skin is more prone to sunburns.
Staying hydrated not only keeps you cool and comfortable but during the summer heat it's essential to avoid heat stroke. Avoid Caffeine and salt and drink at least eight 8oz. glasses of water a day. Don't forget your baby gets her fluids from you, so take care of the two of you this summer.
